If there's ever a time to be on your best behavior, it's during a funeral.
People are extremely sensitive when they're mourning and you want to do your very best to honor the life of the deceased.
But did that stop people from acting like total jerks at funerals? Nope — these stories are proof of that. These are truly shocking.
Bringing kids to a funeral is a crapshoot: you never know what's going to happen.
Unfortunately, this Redditor witnessed a very misbehaved child give a wet willy to the corpse. Yep, he stuck his wet finger inside their dead ear...
"The gentleman had a large family and all of his siblings got up and made it all about themselves, dredged up old family drama, made it clear that they resented his wife, etc. It was so painfully awkward." -u/Abbreviations-Odd
"One of my students' mother died. I went to the funeral with the principal and the student's integration aide. After the funeral her father walked up to her and her grandmother and said 'I want her out of the house by tomorrow morning.' She was 11 years old." -u/MrsAlwaysWrighty
While there are several emotions to grief, laughter isn't usually one of them.
Regardless, this Redditor had a hysterical laughing fit at their father's funeral right when people started to gather at the mortuary. "I kinda lost it."

Well, one stepfather was even more appalling when he started handing out business cards at his stepdaughter's funeral. "There was very nearly a fistfight!" the Redditor wrote.
"My grandpa died. His son (my uncle) went around asking for money to give to his now widowed mother. He collected around $500 USD worth of donations from family, friends etc. he pocketed it, and my grandma didn’t receive [expletive]." - u/VCF1127

This next one sounds straight out of a movie! The Redditor wrote that a guy disguised himself as a nun and tried to shoot the deceased's son since they had refused to honor their dead father's debt.
"At my grandfather's funeral one of the choir members essentially threw a tantrum and ended up interrupting one of my uncles who was giving a speech just because she wasn't given any food. The thing is there wasn't any food at the funeral to begin with." -u/forged_inferno

At the funeral this Redditor attended, a friend of the family with a notorious drinking problem showed up to the visitation and service extremely intoxicated.
At one point, she tripped and face-planted onto the ground.

Funerals are the most inappropriate place to hit on someone, much less a 12-year-old.
Yet, this Redditor witnessed an older guy hit on a young girl at their aunt's funeral. There's just so much wrong with this.
