People Are Sharing Cheap Foods That Reign Supreme

I have an appreciation for fine food and restaurants. but when I'm low and need a pick-me-up, I don't need a Michelin star menu — I need McDonald's.

So to celebrate our collective appreciation for terrible taste, have a look as these people share the cheap foods that reign supreme in their world. Come hungry, leave happy.

If heaven were a smell, it would be cinnamon rolls.

"Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls, in the can. With the glorious little plastic cup of icing, that tastes like vanilla and plasticine. Total nostalgia. If presented with these, and homemade cinnamon rolls, I'll pick these every time." - Reddit u/librarianjenn

"The Sausage McMuffin with Egg and Cheese is the absolute perfect food. I will eat it for any meal." - Reddit u/Bayushizer0

That's the absolute best thing about an all-day breakfast from McDonald's — you no longer have to wake up before 11 AM in order to get your delicious McMuffin served hot and fresh!

Anything from Taco Bell.

"I'll destroy taco bell[sic] any day, any time. A fresco chicken taco with an entire packet of fire sauce, dipped in the " nacho cheese" is just magical and I don't care what anyone says." - Reddit u/eyebrowshampoo

"Stuffed crust Digiorno. In my mouth." - Reddit u/CaimansGalore

Millennials were the beta generation for frozen/microwave pizza; we've seen it all. Considering the humble beginnings from whence it came, frozen pizza has come leaps and bounds over the past decade. I even prefer it to most pizza places.

Store-bought salsa.

"I know roasting/boiling my own veggies and adding as many peppers, garlic, cilantro, lime, etc. is so much better, but sometimes I just want to throw some Herdez salsa on my eggs and chow down." - Reddit u/RighteousMalevolence

"Zebra cakes are my weakness." - Reddit u/noyogapants

I remember a time when having Zebra Cakes in your lunchbox immediately made you the king of the playground. Those things literally were white gold and could procure you pretty much anything you could ever possibly want.

Lil Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes.

"I don’t care for much with regards to Lil Debbie but I’ll take out a whole box of those tree cakes in a day. They literally cannot be in my house or I will eat them all." - Reddit u/itsmrlowetoyou

Instant noodles.

Instant noodles were great because you could just as easily enjoy them raw as you could eat them cooked. It was a mini sodium grenade, but my goodness was it ever satisfying back in the day. Downright tasty!

Hamburger Helper.

"Growing up my mom was a great cook and I always had everything from scratch. First time I had hamburger helper I was probably a teenager and my mind was blown on how rich and flavorful it was." - Reddit u/th3mang0

"Raw cookie dough. Don't tell me how to live my life." - Reddit u/QQueenie

Someone once told me that eating raw cookie dough could cause a person to contract worms. While I must admit that I don't know whether or not that statement is true, I can tell you beyond a shadow of a doubt that I don't care either way.

Nothing eats quite like a hotdog.

"I don't make a steady diet of them, but gimme a simple hot dog in a bun with chili from a can, diced onions, and yellow mustard. Awesome. Gimme three, actually." - Reddit u/Poctz

"Kraft mac & cheese with a bit of siracha, ill eat the whole box in 5 minutes." - Reddit u/reinheitsgebot_19

I don't care who you are, how old you are, what planet you live on, etc. There isn't a single person on this planet who can say with a straight face that they don't love KD.

Gas station sausage links will never go out of style.

"They're the thing I really miss the most during the pandemic cuz I'm not touching those things until we're all vaccinated but man, I miss me some ketchup and relish and meaty goodness!" - Reddit u/MichelleInMpls

"Kraft singles are the only cheese I will put in my homemade grilled cheese." - Reddit u/happypolychaetes

Processed cheese is oh so gross unless you happen to be using it to make grilled cheese. There's something about the way it melts between two pieces of Texas toast that is utterly divine.

"Crazy Fries" from Fast Eddie's.

Where I come from, there's a little fast food restaurant called Fast Eddies. Their staple dish is the Crazy Fry, which consists of melted nacho cheese and chili (day-old hamburger) drizzled on top. It is without question the most dangerously delicious fast food item in existence.
