Tom Cruise Dangles From A Plane Upside Down While Filming Mission Impossible 8

Not a day goes by that I don't find myself wondering what goes on in Tom Cruise's head. Not content with being an A-list celebrity, it seems as though Tom Cruise is desperate to end his life in the most ridiculous way possible while the whole thing is filmed.

If you need proof of this, then you need look no further than the series of photos below which show Cruise hanging off the wing of a WWII plane.

Cruise is currently filming Mission Impossible 8, with the newest instalment including a stunt involving an old biplane.

From having knives pressed dangerously close to his eyes to scaling The Burj Khalifa, Tom Cruise loves putting himself in insane amounts of danger when filming the Mission Impossible movies.

When filming Mission Impossible: Fallout Cruise leapt from one building to another and shattered his ankle in the process, but he hobbles his way to the end of the take. Come on Tom, you're allowed to lie down when you shatter your ankle!

59-year-old Cruise was recently photographed hanging onto the wing of a WWII plane.

As part of the stunt, Cruise clambered out of the cockpit of a 1941 Boeing Stearman biplane, then sat on the wing before hanging upside down from it — all of which took place at 2,000 feet.

Once he was on the wing, the plane then flipped upside down so that Cruise was upright once more.

Cruise was apparently attached by a harness to the plane, but the pictures are still hard to look at!

Talking to interviewer Graham Norton, Cruise recently elaborated on his love for stunt work: "I am a very physical actor, and I love doing them. I study and train and take a lot of time figuring it all out. I have broken a lot of bones."

"The first time of any stunt is nerve-wracking, but it also exhilarating. I have been told a few times during shooting a stunt to stop smiling," Cruise added according to Fox.

Cruise has also been taking flying lessons to prepare for this latest stunt.

Cruise has been working on Mission Impossible 7 and 8 for some time now, with the two being filmed back to back.

Mission Impossible 7 is said to be released in 2022, with Mission Impossible 8 to be released the following year in 2023.

Cruise seems to be showing no signs of slowing down as he gets older.

I like to think that I will be able to put my feet up and relax a little more more as I get older, not climbing out of planes and hanging from the wing!

Still, this latest stunt is doubtless going to attract people to see the next instalments of the Mission Impossible franchise.
