Mom Shares How Her Dog Saved Her Baby's Life In Powerful Tweet

Dogs are lifesavers in many ways. Anyone who has a dog knows how important they are to the fabric of the house. They aren't just pets, they're family. So when one new mom took to Twitter to share how her dog saved her baby's life, dog owners began to share their stories and the internet, for once, became a positive, peaceful place.

A tweet by new mom Kelly Andrew is going viral.

"Last night the dog kept breaking into the nursery and waking the baby. She’s been sick, and I was getting so fed up with him," she shared in her tweet.

"Until she stopped breathing."

"We spent the night in the hospital. I don’t know what would have happened if he hadn’t woken her. We don’t deserve dogs," she concluded.

The post has accumulated over 240,000 likes on Twitter.

The morning after, Kelly shared an update on her daughter, and on their brave dog Henry.

"Thanks for all the well wishes, everyone," she began.

"The baby is doing much better today and we are home with Henry, who bravely held the fort all night even though he is scared of the dark."

What an incredible story of triumph and true love — there's so much to appreciate about animals.

In a heartwarming turn of events, people began to share stories of how their pets protected their children, as well.

"to add an anecdote. some friends had a cat. one night he kept laying down on their faces. he got yelled at, put down on the floor & he kept doing it," one user shared.

"A few minutes in, one of them got up to lock him out of the bedroom & the house was on fire. they all got out. good cat"

As it turns out, we truly don't deserve animals.
