People Said A Teacher Was Crazy For Fostering Five-Year-Old Student, But She Adopted Him Anyway

There are many children in the foster care system who are looking for their forever home and family. Many people open their homes to them temporarily, but some children are still looking for those parents who want to adopt them and give them a "forever family." Sometimes, there are those special people who will open their arms and their heart to kids forever.

Paige Bramlett is a 24-year-old single teacher who had a student in foster care.

A behavioral specialist in a school, she was working with a Kindergarten student who was in foster care. He was in between families and Paige decided to begin the foster process after having a connection with him.

Paige said everyone thought she was insane.

Many people told Paige that she was crazy because she was a single woman who would be raising a child on her own. But, she didn't listen to everyone, and instead, she went forward with the fostering process anyway.

After fostering him, Paige ended up later adopting him oficially.

Paige said that while she was helping him through school, he was in foster care and he exhibited signs of PTSD and trauma after being moved to several different homes several years. Therefore, she wanted him to have a forever home and family.

Paige said when she heard he needed a forever home, she wanted to jump in.

"One day he didn't turn up for school and he had never missed a day. I ran into his caseworker collecting his things in the hallway. She told me they were looking for a forever home for him to be placed in," she said.

The two were also featured on Good Morning America.

Paige said that the decision to adopt her son was a no-brainer. Now, her son has a forever home.

"Now he is adopted. Loved. Chosen. My son. We are learning together every day," she wrote on TikTok.

Paige and her son are now "the best of friends."

She told Good Morning America that her son has become her best friend and that there is nothing she would change about the relationship that they share. The time in her son's life was "challenging" and she knew she had to step in.

Being in Kindergarten can be hard.
