Man Gives Helpful Tip On How To Avoid Getting Ripped Off At Walmart

Many people like to shop at stores that advertise big deals and killer savings for every day items.

Walmart is a store that has tons of deals and "rollback" prices, which can make things pretty great for shoppers. Everyone wants to save money and get a good deal on their home items and everyday needs, so Walmart is great for all shoppers.

One thing that people forget is that these shops can be kind if sneaky.

While the prices are low, people oftentimes neglect that there can also be some sneakiness and scamming happening around the store.

Sometimes, the most popular stores can be hiding some things in plain sight, right in front of our very eyes.

A recent TikTok user has begun to showcase how Walmart is scamming shoppers through several videos online.

Georgia Massmaster showcased that there are some ways that Walmart gets away with ripping some people off by the way in which the store is organized and also the products that they are selling.

He used an SD card for a camera as an example.

The SD card was selling for $10.

The 16 GB SD Card was selling for $10 at Walmart.

That may not seem super expensive, but 16 GB won't really hold as many pictures as one would like. It is put in the hunting section, for hunters who want to take photos.

The same brand is selling an SD card with more memory for less money.

Walmart has an SD card from the same company with more GB—32 in comparison to 16—for almost 3 dollars less. The difference?

The camouflage wrapping of the box. One box is camo on the outside, while the other is just red.

In addition, Bassmaster says the way that the store is organized can determien the prices.

If you are looking for a particular item, you should look in several sections if you want to get a specifically low price.

For example, these SD cards for cameras are placed in the hunting section and are high priced.

But, if you go to the camera section, the prices are half.

If you look in the tech and camera section where they also have SD and memory cards, the prices are far, far less.

Sometimes, you need to check out multiple locations in the actual store to get the best bang for your buck.

People online began to add to the conversation about how to get low prices.

One person pointed out that microfiber towels, which are excellent for cleaning, are cheaper if you find them in the auto section than they are if you pick them up in the cleaning section.

Bassmaster found out for himself.

While it's not a huge difference, the difference is still there.

For the same size towel, the cleaning section listed them for over a dollar.

But, in the automotive section, you can find the same size and type of towel for under 1 dollar. The difference may not seem big, but it's there!

Another user pointed out cast iron pans are also up there.

If you go to the cooking section, cast iron pans and skillets are usually a bit expensive as they are used for long periods of time and are incredibly durable.

However, if you go to the camping section, the price drops.

The price is almost cut in half.

For the same size cast iron skillet, the camping section has the pan for sale for $6, as opposed to over $12.

Clearly, the way in which Walmart lays out its products does play a difference in how much you may pay for them.

The moral of the story? Take your time in Walmart.

The moral of the story is simple: when you're in Walmart, take your time.

You may be surprised that you can find the same thing you need in a different aisle of the store for half of the price you were originally going to pay.

The more you know!
