Woman's BF Furious When He Finds Out He Was Tricked Into Eating Vegan Food

Many people in society have different diets and choices when it comes to food. Some people are omnivores, meaning they eat everything and anything. Then, there are those who are vegetarian, who do not eat any meat. Then, there are vegans, who do not eat any animal products at all. There are also those who are dairy-free, gluten-free, and so on.

In relationships, when one person has dietary restrictions, sometimes things can get messy.

Some couples are totally normal and understanding of each other's food choices and restrictions, while others can be totally rude about their partner's needs and desires. Oftentimes, this can lead to some issues if a partner does not respect the other person's morals and beliefs.

One girlfriend opened up online about her unsupportive boyfriend.

The 21-year-old said she had been dating her boyfriend for three months. On their first date, she told him that she's a vegan, however, he didn't seem phased or bothered by it. It was basically a brush-off.

The Reddit user says that when they hangout and she makes lunch or dinner, it's always vegan.

For example, if he comes over and she makes dinner, she assumes that he knows when she says "burgers" it's an Impossible Burger, because she is vegan and she doesn't eat meat. One would think a boyfriend would remember this about their own girlfriend.

Fast forward to one night after dinner.

The Reddit user said that they had just finished having their own Christmas dinner together—a vegan lasagna—when they were watching a cooking show where the person was making a dish with "fake meat."

It seemed to bother her boyfriend a lot.

Her boyfriend went off about how disgusting it is when people make food with "fake meat" saying he would "never eat that."

His girlfriend found it funny, as they have been constantly eating "fake meat" dishes when she cooks for him, as she is a vegan.

He didn't take it very well. He got "angry" and began to argue about how the Reddit user was "tricking him" into eating her food and trying to make him become a vegan just like her.

The next day, she texted him to "smooth things over."

Instead of apologizing for freaking out, her boyfriend continued to berate her about how "betrayed" he felt by her and how she lied to him and forced him into eating vegan when he doesn't agree with it.

He also wanted an "apology."

"He finished it by saying he would come over for New Years only if I apologized for lying to him. I got frustrated and said that I didn't lie, that this wasn't something I should apologize for, and he was being stupid and childish. He hasn't replied," she wrote.

Not wanting to end the relationship, the Reddit user asked if she was "wrong" or if her boyfriend was just being a jerk.

Many people were wondering how he could possibly think that there was ever meat in any of the food she was making if she told him from day one that she was a vegan.

Other said that her boyfriend never asked, so it's his own fault for being "stupid."

"So, the boyfriend knew OP was vegan, ate burgers with her at her house while she was cooking and didn't ask anything? I almost feel sorry for him for being that stupid," one person wrote in the comments.

Many agreed with them—this boyfriend is straight dumb.

"Well what the hell did he think he was eating at your place- if you, the vegan in the relationship made the food it and happily ate it with him.

Did he think-“oh-I’m sooo special she made meat for little old me :)' AND, 'oh, I’m so special, my, (not really), vegan GF is eating meat with me ?!," others added.

Some said on the bright side, she must be a great cook.

"The fact that he didn’t notice is a huge compliment to the producers of vegan and vegetarian products and to you as a cook. He’s probably healing from his bruised ego as he, and so many other men, consider eating vegan a direct assault on their masculinity," said another Reddit user.
