Bob Saget's Family Speaks Out After The Actor's Sudden Death: 'We Are Devastated'

Losing a loved one is one of the most difficult things a person can endure. Losing a loved one suddenly and unexpectedly adds an entirely different level of shock and sadness in addition to heartbreak.

Comedian, actor, father, and husband Bob Saget died on Sunday, January 9 at the age of 65 in his Orlando hotel room, as reported by TMZ. Now, the actor's family is speaking out.

TMZ reported that actor and comedian Bob Saget passed away on Sunday late afternoon.

According to the news outlet, the 65-year-old was found dead in his room at the Ritz-Carlton in Orlando. TMZ states that the Orlando Sheriff's Department and the fire department responded to a 911 call at the hotel around 4 PM ET.

The news outlet goes on to say that the 65-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene, but the circumstances surrounding his death are still unclear.

However, the Orange County Sheriff's Office told TMZ: "We have no information on cause of death, and detectives have found no signs of foul play or drug use in this case."

"The Medical Examiner’s Office will make the final call on the cause and manner of death," their statement concluded.

Bob is survived by his wife Kelly Rizzo and his three adult daughters — Aubrey, 34, Lara, 32, and Jennifer, 29.

Bob and his wife Kelly tied the knot back in 2018, a decision that came as a surprise to the actor who believed he would never wed again after his previous marriage ended.

As fans will recall, the comedian was married to attorney Sherri Kramer for 15 years, with whom he had his three children.

Speaking with "Closer Weekly" back in 2018, the actor got candid about his love life.

"I didn’t think I’d have a relationship again. I was kind of in that 'just work, make people happy and take care of your kids until they’re 90' mindset," he explained.

"My daughters love her!" he gushed.

"She’s a remarkable person, and she’s really talented. She’s got her own website and streaming series called Eat Travel Rock."

Just a few weeks ago, Kelly took to social media to celebrate their three-year wedding anniversary.

"Happy 3 year anniversary!! Time flies with you!" Kelly wrote on October 28th.

"Doesn’t feel a day over 2 years 10 months. Love you @bobsaget, Thank you for being the most wonderful husband!"

Back in May, Bob gushed about his wife in a heartfelt Instagram post for her 42nd birthday.

"I don’t know what to say except she is the sweetest, most beautiful, smartest woman— and I am so incredibly lucky— and always surprised she loves me so much," he joked.

"Almost as much as I love her. Everyone who gets to have Kelly in their life is beyond fortunate."

"She is an amazing wife, daughter, sister, “step-mommy Kelly,” and best friend. I’m going to do my best to give her the best birthday ever. Every day. I guess I did know what to say. I love my wife Kelly Rizzo," he concluded.

It's clear this pair made each other incredibly happy.

In the hours following his death, the family released an emotional statement to "Page Six."

"We are devastated to confirm that our beloved Bob passed away today," the statement began. "He was everything to us and we want you to know how much he loved his fans, performing live and bringing people from all walks of life together with laughter."

They continued:

"Though we ask for privacy at this time, we invite you to join us in remembering the love and laughter that Bob brought to the world."

What a beautiful statement for such a beloved man.

RIP Bob.
