Internet Slams 'Snow Shovel Husband' For Posting A Picture Of His Wife Outside

Living in cold climates can be a total disaster for some of us. While many people like the snow and it's so beautiful when it begins, the aftermath is truly torturous if you live there.

Having to shovel out your car, your driveway, your sidewalk, and your yard can be a total and complete crap show. It takes a whole lot of work and a whole lot of energy.

Shoveling out when it snows is a lot.

Not only do you have to use your arms, but it is also a full-body workout to get your entire driveway shoveled out after a snow storm. Do you know how I know that? Because my entire body needs to be iced and then I need to rest for 2 weeks after a bad snowstorm.

Many people are fortunate to have other people help them shovel.

In more traditional households, the man of the house is usually responsible for shoveling out the driveway and the cars when a bad snowstorm comes through because it takes so much muscle and so much strength.

Recently, one Twitter user shared a photo of his wife shoveling snow in their driveway.

Jon Reyes shared a photo of his wife outside shoveling snow in their driveway. Clearly, the photo was taken from inside so it looks like he wasn't out there helping her very much.

The worst part is WHAT he wrote.

Reyes wrote,

"Even after a 12 hour night shift at the hospital last night, my wife still has the energy to shovel the driveway. God bless her and all our frontliners. Time to make her some breakfast."

Full stop.

Not only did his wife work a 12-hour shift, in the middle of a 3-year and counting global pandemic, as a health care worker, with sick people—but she also came home and he made her shovel out their driveway while he stayed inside warm AF.

Clearly, Jon Reyes has some explaining to do.

Not only do WE think Jon Reyes has a lot to explain, but people online do, too.

Everyone has dubbed him the "Snow Shovel Husband" and not in a good way. Many on Twitter were mocking him and wondering why he was so damn lazy and didn't go help his wife.

Many couldn't believe he shared this photo.

People online were shocked Jon would share this photo from his warm home while his wife is out there breaking her back after working such a long shift in such a crazy time.

Others began to troll him with some memes.

Many got the memes going on Twitter, showcasing how ridiculous he looks for being inside and not being outside helping his wife shovel.

And, that doesn't look like a little bit of snow either, she definitely could use some help.

One said "she's practicing."

In a funny twist of humor, one Twitter user said she must be practicing using the shovel in order to practice digging her husband's grave, for not helping her and then posting it on social media for the world to see.

However, his wife did defend her husband on Facebook.

In a lengthy Facebook post, Reyes' wife, Cynthia Reyes, said that she has "every right to shovel" if she wants to and her husband doesn't need to be dragged she chose to do so.

She also said if the gender roles were reversed, this wouldn't even be a conversation.

Listen, at the end of the day, people are going to do what works best for them and their household.

And I don't know what's going on behind closed doors.

But I do know this: no matter how much snow there is, if my husband isn't doing it, I will call someone who will.
