Taylor Swift's VMAs Outfit Had A Hidden Message

Taylor Swift is the KWEEN of Easter eggs. I'm serious u guys, everything this queen does has a hidden message, and we love that for her. And for us, of course—we love secrets!

Well T-Swift didn't just leave us gagging with her iconic VMAs opening performance.

Her medley of "You Need To Calm Down" and "Lover" made us feel all the feelings.

But guys, sis was secretly speaking to us before she even entered the arena!

Cause that's the kind of baddie she is!

That's right, T-Swift's outfit was serving a secret message.

Her sequin Versace jacket isn't just stunning to look at, it's also serving stunning symbolism.

The symbols? SAFTEY PINS.

What's so special about safety pins?

Well, according to The New York Times, they're actually considered to be a symbol of protest against the Trump administration.

"After the election of Donald J. Trump, fears are growing that segments of his base may physically or emotionally abuse minorities, immigrants, women and members of the L.G.B.T. community."

"As a show of support, groups of people across America are attaching safety pins to their lapels, shirts and dresses to signify that they are linked, willing to stand up for the vulnerable."

As if we couldn't love Taylor any more!

Taylor is a big LGBTQ+ ally, and her music video for "You Need To Calm Down" features prominent members of the queer community.

So it's really no surprise that she decided to make a subtle political protest.

"You Need To Calm Down" won the Video of The Year and Video for Good award's last night.

When she accepted her Video of The Year award, Taylor made a point to have her political voice be heard.

She fully dragged the Trump administration's lack of acknowledgment of the Equality Act petition for LGBTQ+ rights.

A call to sign the petition was featured at the end of her "You Need To Calm Down" music video.

"It now has half a million signatures, which is five times the amount that it would need to warrant a response from the White House," Swift said.

She then checked her imaginary watched and snatched all our wigs.

"In this video several points were made, so you voting for this video means that you want a world, where we're all treated equally under the law," she continued.

Taylor was so thankful to the queens who performed in her "YNTCD" video that she refused to perform unless the whole cast received Moonmen, too.

"RuPaul's Drag Race" contestant Trinity K Bone't explained the whole ordeal on her Instagram story.

"I just want y'all to know that Taylor Swift made sure that each and every one of us gets two Moonmen for the awards she won tonight," she said.

"[Taylor said] that she would not perform unless we got awards too. So I'm going to have two Moonmen in my house with my name on it for Video of the Year at the f***ing VMAs!"

And in a fun twist of events, one of the drag queens in Taylor's video, Jade Jolie, made *such* a convincing T-Swift that John Travolta mistook her for the real thing!

This clip is... wild.
