People Are Sculpting Their Hair To Look Like Festive Christmas Trees

Oh the weather outside is...not too bad, to be honest. Summer still has her claws in us, and winter seems like it's a long ways away. But think about it: it's September now, which means it's almost October, which means it's soon going to be November, and then before you know it, it'll be December.

Christmas is practically here, guys.

The season of credit card debt, sugar cookies, and ugly, itchy holiday sweaters is upon us. It's easy to get lost in it all. But if you're looking for a way to really stand out against the other festive fiends, I've got just the solution for you.

Grab the hairspray; we're going deep this year.

The latest and greatest beauty trend sees people turn their average, boring hair into Christmas trees on top of their heads.

Honestly, if you've never shaped your hair into an upside-down cone, doused it with an entire can of hairspray, and then decorated it with tinsel and baubles, you're really doing Christmas wrong.

So how exactly can you achieve this bizarrely festive hair-raising look?

Well, according to one YouTube video, the secret to this Cindy Lou Who look is using a plastic water bottle to keep your newly sculpted up-do in place. Simply attach a hair elastic over the top of the bottle to keep everything in place, and you've got yourself a Christmas tree.

Others simply opted for a tight, thick hair braid coiled on top their head to make their own DIY cone-shape. So you'll have to figure out which way works best for you. But in either case, hair spray is a must.

After you've achieved the right shape, it's up to you to decide how you want your tree to be decorated.

On Instagram, people are using just about anything and everything to deck their holiday hair. Tinsel and baubles are a must, and some have even added lights (hopefully heat-less) and a star on top!

If you're feeling particularly extra you can even dye your hair green, because Christmas is the time to live your best, Grinchiest life.

Think this trend is just for festive females? Think again. Men are getting into the Christmas spirit, too.

Men have the added bonus of decorating their beards to match their sculpted trees, so even their facial hair can scream Christmas the whole season long.

Or until they get sick of having a giant hair cone on their head.

My only suggestion for this look? Know your limit and decorate within it.

If you don't think your hair is particularly strong enough to hold the weight of several baubles, or you aren't sure you'll be able to maintain your balance while walking with a giant star on top of your head, maybe skip the heavier decorations and go for something simpler.

There's nothing wrong with just a little tinsel and a few lights. You'll still be the most festive person at every holiday party you attend, guaranteed.
