Salma Hayek Fires Back At Claims She Married Her Husband 'For The Money'

It is pretty clear that I did not marry for money. Okay fine, that is since my husband doesn't have any money, but I was never against the idea of marrying rich.

Of course, my version of rich and Salma Hayek's version of rich are probably a little bit different.

So when Salma is accused of marrying someone for their money, you know we're talking big time money!

Salma is speaking out against those claims in a new interview.

Celebrities are always being put down for SOMETHING.

Whether it's a bad social media post, a bad take they had in an interview, or a wardrobe fail, celebs are always being put down by someone in the media.

That's the name of the game.

Salma Hayek is definitely not immune to that.

Right now, it has to do with her marriage, so as you can imagine, Salma is not happy with that.

You can't come for this woman's family and just expect her to stay quiet about it!

Salma Hayek is one of the most beautiful actresses, like, ever.

Salma's a millionaire in her own right, so it'd be pretty silly to suggest that she would find the need to do anything for money. If I had the kind of money she had I would only marry for ONE thing, and that's eye candy!

I'm kidding. Probably.

Salma has been married to François-Henri Pinault since 2009.

Pinault is the president and CEO of Kering and the president of Groupe Artémis, and has a net worth of over $40 billion.

I can't even imagine what that number looks like, to be honest.

Obviously, that is no bank account balance to sneeze at.

But Salma Hayek recently opened up to Dax Shepard on his podcast that his money is definitely not the reason as to why she is with him.

She did not hold back, either.

It all started when Dax asked her about her husband.

"I'm gonna be honest, I didn't know who he was, I just heard or maybe read in a headline that you had married a really rich guy. Maybe that's why she married him," Dax speculated, and Salma had a lot to say about that!

"You know the thing is that in pictures you cannot begin to guess the magic in him," Salma said.

"He's made me become a much better person, and grow in such a good, healthy way," she went on.

"You know, when I married him, everybody said, 'Oh, it's arranged marriage, she married him for the money.'"

"I'm like, 'Yeah, whatever, [expletive]. Think what you want.'"

She is clearly not bothered and doesn't plan on being bothered any time soon!

She proved that by saying:

"Fifteen years together, and we are strong in love," she added.

When it comes to people assuming the worst, Salma also said, "I don't even get offended, I'm like, 'Yeah, whatever.'"

"We're touching on a very interesting conversation," Salma continued.

"There is a discrimination also to rich men. Immediately you think because somebody's rich, [they] might not be a good person."

Honestly, this queen has a point.

Salma added, "It's not just an insult to me. I'm not the one being judged only."

"They cannot begin to imagine what a joy that human being is," Salma said.

I think it's pretty clear that Salma didn't marry him for his money (although I'm sure it didn't hurt!), but I'm glad she's got such a good attitude about it!
