Crafty Mom Crochets The Most Incredible Homemade Halloween Costumes For Her Kids

When you're a kid, you can be a bit irrational. Like, even if one of your parents can make incredible Halloween costumes, you'll become fixated on the crappy store-bought ones all your friends have. Because the pressure to fit in is strong.

However, some parents are so amazing that their costumes defeat any attempts at blending in, in favor of just being incredibly awesome.

And this mom who goes by the username Crochetverse on Reddit definitely falls into that category.

For the last few years, she's shared her creations in the crochet and Halloween communities on Reddit, and pretty much every time, the posts have gone viral for very good reasons.

This year, one of her sons is going as a xenomorph from the Alien franchise. She says the costume took about 45 hours to create and she didn't use a pattern.

Oh, and the costume even GLOWS in the dark!

Her other son chose Skeletor for his equally epic costume .

This one comes complete with glowing eyes, which Crochetverse says were made by her brother-in-law with some LEDs and basic electrical skills.

Last year's designs were great too.

Compared to the previous ones, this seems easier, but I bet that's deceiving.

Slimer looks a little sad, doesn't he?

Her older son clearly has a love for '80s sci-fi horror.

This year, xenomorphs, last year, the Predator. I love the forehead detail on this one, which feels weird to say.

Clearly, Crochetverse is raising the bar on homemade Halloween costumes and I can't wait to see what she has in store for next year!
