Clinton Responds After Trump Tweets That She Should Run Again: 'Don't Tempt Me'

With over 45,000 tweets under his belt, it's clear that President Donald Trump is never stuck wondering what he should say on Twitter.

And if one were to look at the replies to any of his tweets, they can expect what we'll charitably call some lively debate between his supporters and his gallery of opponents.

And while it wasn't unusual to see the president and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton trade blows in the time leading up to the 2016 Presidential Election, any such contact seemed to fall by the wayside afterwards. Trump has had many other political rivals to engage with, after all.

However, it seems that Clinton has re-entered the fray in recent weeks and was actually inspired to address the president directly after a recent tweet.

Lately, it seems the ongoing fallout from Trump's phone call to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that resulted in the impeachment inquiry he now faces has Clinton's attention.

As we can see here, that wasn't helped when Trump began publicly making similar investigation requests into former Vice-President Joe Biden and his son, Hunter to the Chinese government.

While it's unclear whether commentary like this inspired this suggestion from the president that Clinton should run again, it provides a reason why she would be on his mind.

Aside from adapting his usual "Crooked Hillary" nickname to "The Crooked One," the content of the rest of his tweet wouldn't be out of place back in 2016.

What caught people's attention, however, was this brief response from Clinton.

The implication that this wouldn't be as advantageous for Trump as he thinks seemed to pique the public's curiosity.

And for her supporters, that last suggestion that the president should have more going on right now than Twitter was the icing on the cake.

Before anyone gets too excited, however, Clinton has already made it clear that she would not run for president again.

As she told News 12 in March, "I'm not running, but I'm going to keep on working and speaking and standing up for what I believe."
