Amateur Baker Turns Pie Into Art With Her Incredibly Creative Pie Crusts

Do you ever just look at your food and think, "Dang, this is just way too pretty to eat." Yeah, I don't know that feeling either.

However, thanks to photo sharing platforms like Instagram, you and I can get a better understanding of what that's like.

Isn't this pie just hypnotizing?

You can thank Seattle's very own local celebrity baker Lauren Ko for that, or should I say, pie artiste.

However, would you believe that this isn't Lauren's main gig?

"I’m an executive assistant with no professional culinary or pastry training/experience," Lauren told Mic.

She explained that she baked her first pie in 2016 inspired by some images on the popular social media aspirational platform Pinterest.

A year later, she began sharing her elaborate creations on The Gram.

These pies are serious business, as they can take anywhere from four to five hours to make.

Even though these designs are her own, she takes inspiration from other bakers for the pie crust and filling recipes — it's a real team effort, as she is sure to cite them in her posts.

While it's hard to believe that someone would sink their chompers into one of these art pieces, her pies do certainly get eaten.

If she needs any more taste tester, I'm available!
