Even though they are really unique, these lights are a subtle way to update a space. This one blends in seamlessly with the overall palette of this dining area.

You can also cluster a few together to make a statement light that would be the focal point of any space.

Addicted 2 Decorating has a great tutorial for making your own pendant lamp from a vintage globe.

To start, you'll need a vintage globe and a pendant light cord, which can be found at stores like Ikea.

Use a serrated knife to cut a large hole in the bottom of the globe, and a smaller one in the top.

Addicted 2 Decorating

Give the inside of the globe a coat of white spray paint and use a glossy, clear spray on the outside.

When everything is dry, use bias tap along the bottom edge of the globe.

Thread your pendant light cord through the top and hang it up.

Be sure to use a low-temperture light bulb with this lamp.

For a chic, vintage style this is a really easy and affordable home project.
