Father And Daughter Recreate Sweet Graduation Photo 18 Years Later On Her Big Day

A social media post is making the rounds again one year after a high school graduate shared a sweet side-by-side recreation snap of her and her dad on their respective graduation days, People reported.

The first photo was taken in 2000 when Dennis Roach was graduating from Huntsville High School in Texas.

The student was snapped holding his baby girl, Tori, in his arms and stealing a kiss from the toddler as he celebrated earning his high school idploma.

The photo was uncovered last year as Tori's family were looking for her baby photos to use at her own high school graduation party.

It was the girl's aunt who suggested that Dennis and Tori use her upcoming graduation to recreate the adorable photo 18 years later.

They were both graduating from the same school.

It seemed like the perfect occasion to grab a matching pic with her dad, and it was. It didn't take much to line up the perfect shot.

Tori shared the side-by-side snaps on Twitter and the post quickly went viral.

"18 years later," she captioned the post, which featured the original photo as well as a new one in which the now-37-year-old Dennis held his daughter in his arms and gave her a kiss on the cheek.

Tori said that being able to recreate that picture was "really cool," albeit a little awkward to have to sit in her father's arms for the photo.

"It brought me and my dad closer in a way because we could share that moment, and I feel that not many other people get to experience that," she told People.

Twitter users gushed over the adorable side-by-side, although some were a bit too focused on Dennis.

"Looking for a step mom?" one user quipped, while another admitted, "I scrolled your pics to find more pics of your dad and was very disappointed."

Unfortunately for those users, Tori had some devastating news to share about her dad's availability.

Yes, sadly, Dennis is very much taken, but maybe she has a cute uncle or two that are single and ready to mingle?

One year after the post first made the rounds on Twitter, it has been gaining popularity once again as graduation season approaches.

According to Tori, the post has recently earned thousands of additional retweets.

“I woke up and I had a ton of notifications … People had started sharing and liking and commenting all over again."

Her and her father are both happy.

“My dad was really proud. We’re from a small town, so nothing like this really ever happens. And he was like, ‘That’s so cool!’"

Tori is definitely also pleased with the media attention.

Everyone gets their 15 minutes of fame, and getting yours for a sweet photo-op with your dad is a pretty good deal.

Now, Tori is a student at Sam Houston State University with her sights set on graduating in 2022.

And yes, in case you were wondering, she definitely plans on recreating the picture again for her university graduation.

"It's in the same town that I was born and raised in," she said.

It's a proud tradition.

"When I graduate from Sam, it'll be in the same stadium that I graduated in from high school and the same stadium that he graduated in from high school."
