18 Times Pop Culture Tattoos Went Horribly Wrong

I've already told you that I'm a huge fan of tattoos. So I'm always looking for cool inspiration from fellow tattoo enthusiasts. A Pop culture design is one of those ideas that has intrigued me for a while. And I've seen some beautiful works of art.

However, I've also seen some nightmare tattoos that nobody should have attempted in the first place. Check out these gems here.

1. This 'X-Files Gem

There are so many truly devoted X-Files fans out there. Am I right? But if you're one of them, be warned. Make sure you go to a tattoo artist who can handle the job, or you might get stuck with his monstrosity here.

2. This Tinker Bell

I didn't realize how popular Disney tattoos really are. I guess a lot of folks want to relive their favorite childhood moments, huh? Unfortunately, for this person, a tattoo like this is bound to give them some nightmares.

3. This 'Lion King' Tattoo

OMG, what the heck is that? This ladies and gentlemen is supposed to be a scene from The Lion King. But it's actually the most horrifying thing I've seen all day. Why is it so red, too? Is it infected? Oh, no!

4. This Punisher

I'm a huge fan of the movie The Punisher, and I've always wanted to get a T-shirt with that symbol. But I have no idea what went wrong here. It doesn't even resemble it at all. What's going on?

5. These Minions

I don't really get why people are so fascinated with the minions. They look kind of stupid to me. And I can tell you right now I would never get them tattooed on my skin, especially if it turned out like this.

6. This Nightmare Before Christmas Design

I wouldn't be surprised if this lady started getting nightmares. I would if I got a tattoo as bad as this one here. And why did she put it on the same side as an existing one? I'm so baffled.

7. This Elvis Presley

If you think this tattoo is "king" you need to get your eyes examined. This absurdity here bears no resemblance to Elvis Prestley. I bet he's turning in his grave looking at this from above. Don't you think?

8. This Spiderman And Thanos Design

Somebody on Reddit said that this must've been drawn by a five-year-old and I have to agree with them. I mean, a professional tattoo artist would have come up with a stellar tattoo idea, but this isn't one to be proud of, right?

9. These Avengers

If I've ever seen an Avengers tattoo that needed a cover-up, this one would be it. Not only the whole concept is bad, but whatever happened to the Hulk? He does look like a monster, alright, ha, ha!

10. This Freddie Mercury

Freddie Mercury sure had a lot of charisma on stage. So it's no wonder people want to commemorate that on their skin. However, in this case, something went terribly wrong. He looks like he's about to devour his mic.

11. This Angelina Jolie

I don't know if I've told you, but I dug Angelina Jolie even before she got famous. There's something about her fierce spirit that I adore. This tattoo idea here would have been good if the artist knew what they were doing.

12. This 'King Of The Hill' Design

I'm not exactly a fan of King of the Hill, but I can appreciate the sentiment here. I just don't know what went wrong with the execution of this tattoo idea. What do you think?

13. This Dr. Evil

Who here loves Austin Powers? It's one of my favorite funny movies. Dr. Evil is one hilarious character, that's for sure. I so wish somebody did him justice here, but unfortunately, this tattoo is quite miserable.

14. This Back Piece

Holy crap! I can't believe somebody put this on their entire back. I think what they were trying to portray is Wolverine fighting Iron Man. But something clearly got lost in translation here. This idea is so bad. Isn't it?

15. This 'Alice In Wonderland' Idea

OMG, I can count the ways this tattoo is all wrong here. The only thing I like about it is how colorful it looks. Other than that, it's pretty scary to look at, and that's not okay.

16. This Joker

Jared Leto as The Joker sure was menacing, no? Sadly, the only menacing thing about this tattoo is how badly executed it is. Was this tattoo artist having a bad day, or is this how all his tattoos look like, huh?

17. This Shrek Tattoo

Someone must really like the Shrek movies to go ahead and get the main character tattooed on their body. Even though this tattoo has a lot of problems, I do have to give them credit for including the onion.

18. This Marilyn Monroe

For as long as I remember, I've been a fan of Marilyn Monroe. She's so iconic, right? But when I see somebody butcher her memory like this, I'm absolutely horrified. This tattoo is the worst one I've seen so far.

Before you head out to get that pop culture tattoo, there are a few things you should consider.

First of all, get a great tattoo artist who can execute your vision well. And then make sure your design doesn't suck, okay? I hope these people here learned their lessons, hehe.
