15 Stories Proving Children Will Always Tell The Uncomfortable Truth

One thing about being around kids often is that they are constantly saying thing with no filter.

Whether you are with your own children, your little siblings, or even if you work with children, you know from experience that kids have no boundaries and no social rules. They will be as honest as they want, and usually, they are.

That's one way to learn.

Let's face it, kids are sometimes funnier than we can ever realize or even anticipate.

This one kid wanted to learn from his drama teacher how to "look like he's listening when his dad talks," even though he's really not.

What a skill.

Whenever kids see anyone eating food without making a huge mess, they feel like they're seeing new talent.

Kids are constantly making a huge mess of everything—especially ice cream. So, it's a new talent, mom.

Just today!

I mean, it's quite the compliment to be called the prettiest girl that they've ever seen.

But, to add in, just today? Well, that takes away from that whole compliment that you were going to ride on the entire rest of your day.

At least they're honest.

There are a few times in life when you think that things are happening and people are laughing with us, but these kids can tell the truth without ever spiting anyone's feelings.

These kids are laughing at their dad, not with their dad.

Yikes.

There is no better reality check than working with kids, whether you are a teacher or a camp counselor.

This one camp counselor says that there is nothing quite like being told by a child that you "should" be wearing makeup when you're not.

She knows what she wants.

I mean, at least we know that we have a future Girlboss in our presence!

Knowing what she wants will get her far in life, so I personally am I applauding her.

They're not wrong.

Teaching kids to read time and to read in general is a skill that they need, but it will also backfire.

This mom wanted her child to clean their room but what do you know, they can read the clock.

What a burn!

Your hair is supposed to grow out of your head, but when men go bald, their hair starts to disappear and go away.

This daughter is not afraid to let her dad know that his hair is growing the "wrong way."

Mom is living proof.

When moms are in a rush, we're not concerned with how we look.

Let's face it, we're hardly ever working to put ourselves together when we're stuck with two kids, we can hardly get it together.

Smart kid.

Teaching your kids accountability and how to determine when they do the right and wrong thing can be hard.

But, this 4-year-old knows to never admit when you do something wrong unless proven guilty.

Total truth bomb.

You may look better than your kid today, but they're always going to find a way to knock you down a peg or two.

Your face is cute, sure, but your breath is terrible. Time to get a mint.

Total boss move.

I'm sure the kids were learning about fractions, or spelling, or even math.

But, this 5-year-old was busy learning about dragons and they aren't going to change that for a minute. Good for them.

Truth hurts.

Trying to give ourselves a pep talk can be hard when you have your kids around.

Clearly, this child knows that even though their mom is trying to be a "hot mama," she should know that she's also a "hot mess."

See ya, mom.

Kids would 100% rather have a cat or a dog over their own mother or parent.

Let's face it, they would rather be raised by wolves if they could, rather than be raised by us.

A true story of maturity.

Kids are usually quiet and nice until they reach a specific age, then they begin to scream, shout, and flip out constantly.

But, apparently, this child knows how to explain that this is their "new voice," and they have finally reached their peak.
