Of all the reality TV shows to come and go over the years, there's never been one quite like 90 Day Fiace. This unlikely fan favorite has captured the hearts and minds of fans all over the world.

Since its inception, a lot has changed but the heart of the series remains the same. So for those who are looking to get more than their fair share, here are 15 facts about 90 Day Fiance that people may not have known.

Larissa Dos Santos Lima's spending habits were a major contributing factor in her divorce.

According to an Instagram post made by her ex-husband, Colt Johnson, Larissa quite literally came to America with nothing. Her champagne taste eventually became too much for Colt, and when the money dried up — so did their love.

The marriages were made to last.

While fans may have been skeptical in the beginning, it would appear that their concerns were largely unwarranted. All of the four couples from Season 1 are all still happily married, despite the stacked odds against them.

The show has spawned multiple spin-off series.

So far, TLC has created four separate spin-off series. These include 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After?, 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days, 90 Day Fiancé: What Now?, and finally — 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way.

Cast members don't do it for the money.

American cast members are paid $1000 per episode, and receive an additional $2500 for attending the tell-all special. Due to the fact that Non-American cast members have yet to receive their Green Cards, they're paid nothing.

Friends and family members also receive no financial incentive to appear on the show.

In a self-made YouTube video, Nikki Cooper and her husband, Chris Thieneman, confirmed that friends and family were not paid — they themselves claimed to have received nothing from the show.

Kirlyam first met her husband Alan when she was very young.

The couple met for the first time while Alan was doing missionary work in Brazil. At the time, Alan was 20-years-old and Kirlyam was only 12! Both parties maintain that their romantic relationship didn't begin until Alan's second visit, eight years later.

It isn't as "real" as you might imagine.

Nikki Cooper, a friend of Season 5's David Toborowsky, told InTouch that some of the drama fans see is largely staged. She claimed that their lines were being force-fed to them by producers.

Fans wanted Nicole Nafziger off the show for good.

In Season 4, a petition to remove cast member Nicole Nafziger surfaced on Change.org. The petition was in response to a pattern of abusive behavior enacted by Nicole toward her fiance, Azan Tefou.

Molly Mendez was already familiar with the world of Reality TV.

Prior to appearing on 90 Day Fiance, Molly starred in another TV show called Double Divas. The show portrayed the working/personal lives of a group of women working at the LiviRae Lingerie store in Georgia.

Against all odds, the series and all respective spin-offs have become wildly popular.

It might sound difficult to comprehend, but 90 Day Fiance is one of the most-watched and popular shows on cable TV. According to TLC, 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After? averaged 2.6 million viewers per episode.

Just because a couple gets married, doesn't mean that citizenship is guaranteed.

The K-1 Visa is just the first step a couple must take. After that, the individual must apply for a Green Card and successfully hold it for a minimum of three years.

Sean Hiler claims that producers purposely omit/hide things from the viewers.

During Season 1 of 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days, Sean accused the show of portraying a fabricated account of his life and relationship. He says that viewers shouldn't trust the emotions they see acted out on the show.

Annie and David began their relationship living in a storage unit.
