Cameron Diaz is opening up about life as a mom with her husband Benji Madden. She recently chatted with Kelly Clarkson about the trials, and tribulations, but also the amazing thing about being a parent to her two-year-old daughter Raddix.

Diaz, who stepped away from the spotlight of Hollywood in order to focus on being a mom is loving her life right now, and I could not be happier for her.

The two got married in January of 2015.

Recently, Diaz was featured on the Kelly Clarkson show, and opened up about how she deals with the good and the bad when it comes to parenthood.

“It’s the best thing I’ve ever done in my life.” Diaz shared with Clarkson.

But when asked about what she does during the more difficult moments of parenthood, Diaz was very honest about how she tries to deal with those moments.

She has a checklist that she uses to see what could have gone wrong when her child is upset or if something is wrong.

Diaz goes through the list, “Did she eat? Is she tired? What time is it? When was the last time she ate? When is nap? You just kind of start there, and you go, ‘What just happened?"

"Is there something she’s trying to communicate to me?"

“And I feel like as a parent, my job is to just help her find the words to her emotions, her experience, what she’s going through, and be able to help her identify that and move through it.”

She believes that the reason she's so good at being able to deal with these moments is that she waited until she was older to become a parent.

She also is very sure to apologize to her daughter when she does, in fact, lose her cool.

“What’s also really imperative — to repair."

"Like, if you do blow up, just to repair that and say, ‘Oh my God, Mommy lost her s**t’ And, ‘I didn’t mean to say that to you.'”

I could not have said that better myself, tbh.

“‘If I hurt your feelings or if I upset you, I just want you to know that Mommy’s human, too.'”

To be honest, Diaz sounds like she is an amazing mother. I'm sure she is absolutely killing it, the same way Cameron Diaz killed every other job she had.
