Jason Momoa And Lisa Bonet Split After 16 Years Together

In a news story I never thought I would bring you all, Hollywood heartthrob and Jason Momoa and his beauty queen wife Lisa Bonet have called it quits after 16 years together. Needless to say, fans were totally shocked at the news, as was I!

The pair, who reportedly tied the knot in 2017, made the surprising announcement on Wednesday night.

Actors Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet have announced their split after 16 years together.

As fans know, the pair have two children together — daughter Lola, who was born in 2007, and Son Nakoa-Wolf, who was born the following year.

It's no secret Jason has had eyes for Lisa long before the two met in 2004.

Speaking on the Late Late Show in 2017, the actor recalled seeing Lisa on the Cosby Show where she rose to fame playing Denise Huxtable in the '80s.

"Ever since I was like, 8 years old and I saw her on the TV, I was like, 'Mommy, I want that one,'" Jason told James Corden at the time.

"I'm like, 'I'm going to stalk you for the rest of my life and I'm going to get you.'"

And get her he did! The pair, who met at a Jazz club in 2004, were instantly smitten with one another.

She explained that the pair had been together since the day they met.

"In that moment, love came and it came big, and he did not run as I think a lot of men do," Lisa told Porter magazine back in 2018.

"He basically picked me up and threw me over his shoulder, caveman style!"

She went on to compliment the father of her children for his ability to be such a family man.

"What’s cool about Jason is that he’s an alpha male who stands for love and family."

"And to circle back to my own wounds, having an absent father, then to be fully met by a man of that stature, is really incredible."

"Jason embodies a rare form of masculinity in this day and age – he’s a leader; he’s generous," she continued.

"Just in terms of charisma, physique, the right use of power, responsibility, work ethic, you can go down the line."

In a joint statement, the pair announced their split after nearly 5 years of marriage, and 16 years together.

"We have all felt the squeeze and changes of these transformational times… A revolution is unfolding ~and our family is of no exception....feeling and growing from the seismic shifts occurring," they began.

The pair explained that they were sharing the update on their relationship "not because we think it's newsworthy ~ But so that~ as we go about our lives we may do so with dignity and honesty."

They continued: "The love between us carries on, evolving in ways it wishes to be known and lived. We free each other ~to be who we are learning to become..."

"Our devotion unwavering to this sacred life& our Children. Teaching our Children What's possible ~Living the Prayer May Love Prevail," they concluded.

Fans took to social media to send their love and support to this once-great couple.

To be fair, it seemed like a lot of fans were concerned with what would happen to Jason's bromance with Lisa's ex-husband, Lenny Kravitz.

"I really loved Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet together....and the Jason Momoa Lenny Kravitz bromance," tweeted one fan.

"Lisa Bonet and Jason Momoa are getting a divorce but him and Lenny are still going to stay together right?" said another.

We're wishing this beautiful family all the best.
