The new trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder featuring Chris Hemsworth finally arrived and boy, did it ever pack a punch. New gods, new enemies, and even a brand new goddess of thunder! Played by none other than the magnificent Natalie Portman. Among those two huge names will be Tessa Thompson reprising her role as Valkyrie, and Chris Pratt as Star-Lord.

There was so much going on that it was hard to properly take it all in. Rest assured that we've got you covered, and are here to break down the brand new trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder just for you!

MCU fans couldn't help but drool over the fact that Thor (Chris Hemsworth) was back in god-like shape, and were thrilled to see the first glimpses of the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Now, in the first official full-length trailer, we're beginning to see the whole picture taking form.

The first scene we have to take note of is about 23 seconds into the trailer. Thor is fighting alongside the citizens of New Asgard against an unknown alien force with black tentacles (more on this later).

All of a sudden, Mjolnir (Thor's magical hammer) makes a sudden reappearance.

This catches Thor by surprise, as the last time we saw the mythical weapon was when Steve Rogers (Captain America) took it with him on his journey of time through Avengers: Endgame. But this seems to be the hammer from Thor: Ragnarok that was destroyed and now put back together.

Just as Thor is about to reach out and touch Mjolnir, the hammer all of a sudden stops and retracts.

Thus revealing Mjolnir's new owner, Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) aka "The Goddess of Thunder." The pair are shocked to see one another and can't seem to agree on how long it's been since they last met.

According to Jane, it's only been 3-4 years.

Thor corrects her and explains that it's actually been 8 years, 7 months, and six days.

This could be Jane exhibiting an air of disinterest. However, what's far more likely is that she was a victim of "The Blip" and doesn't realize how long it's actually been since she and Thor have seen one another.

Then, at roughly 1:03, fans are finally given their first look at the MCU's latest villain — Gorr the God Butcher.

A mythical sword rises from the sands, and Gorr (played by Christian Bale) steps forward to claim it — draped in white and surrounded by the same black tentacles we saw Thor and Jane fighting off earlier.

Fans have theorized that Gorr and the presence of the Necrosword could lead to the introduction of symbiotes in the MCU.

Symbiotes are vicious and incredibly powerful alien life forces that survive by bonding with another living organism. Both Venom and Carnage are two of the most well-known symbiotes in the Marvel Universe.

In the comics, the first symbiote is known as All-Black — created by the malignant ruler, Knull.

After the Celestials create the universe, Knull uses All-Black to decapitate their leader. He then crafts All-Black into the Necrosword and attempts to use it to destroy all life as we know it.

When Knull is defeated in battle, Gorr discovers All-Black/Necrosword and bonds with it.

Thus begins Gorr's quest to murder all gods. The rights are a very strange and complicated thing when it comes to Sony and Marvel, but here's hoping that this fan theory comes true in some form!

Another important introduction is Zeus, played by Russell Crowe.

Fans need to see proof of Gorr's power and killing the King of Olympus would certainly do just that. Also, considering that we see Valkyrie wielding Zeus' thunderbolt to fight Gorr at the 1:36-mark, I'm inclined to believe that's precisely what happens.

The final scene worth taking note of is when we see Jane struck by lightning, surrounded by gold statues.

These busts appear to be Gorr's vanquished enemies. Among them is the Living Tribunal, the entity that maintains balance in the multiverse. To the far left, we see Death itself. If Gorr has already conquered beings as powerful as this, does Thor have any hope of stopping him?
