Airports are one of the busiest places when it comes to commuter traffic and people in numbers. Everyone is waiting around for either flight to leave, on layovers and delays, or waiting to meet other people flying in.

As many people have been to some crowded, busy, and overpacked airports at least once or twice in their life, they usually understand how airport etiquette works. However, there are many who clearly do not.

Most people have an understanding of respecting space and place.

When you are sitting in a public setting, especially at an airport, having respect for other people is something that should be a general rule of thumb. Making sure you are not taking up so many seats and spaces is one way to do this.

Of course, there are always people who don't understand that rule.

No matter where you are or which state you are in, there's always someone who takes up multiple seats and spaces all for themselves. Of course, this leaves people no other option than to have to stand around or even sit on dirty airport floors while they wait.

Recently, one woman was slammed on TikTok for not being cognizant of clear airport etiquette.

TikTok user Ameya Okamoto shared the video clip on her TikTok page, showcasing a woman who was taking up not one, not two, not three, but four seats for herself in a busy, crowded airport. That's enough to make anyone annoyed.

The video pans across to show a woman sprawled out on a couch in the airport.

Okamoto said, "Can we talk about how this woman is taking up enough space for like 10 people at my gate." The woman was clearly making herself right at home, not only taking up several spaces but also extending her charger across other seats, as well.

The TikTok user even made a comment to the woman.

Speaking in the comments, the TikTok user said she didn't ask why she was recording her, but, stated "I moved closer to suggest I might want to sit down and she just looked me up and down and made me uncomfy."

There were also a ton of people sitting on the floor.

Okamoto shared that there were "dozens" of people sitting on the floor because they had no chair or extra space to sit. With Covid-19 still pretty relevant, some people are spacing out every other chair, too, for safety.

It may not seem like a big deal, but it's rude.

While some may not see this as an egregious move, it's extremely disrespectful to take up so many spaces when there are that many people who are looking for seats to sit and wait for their flight.

People online wholeheartedly agreed.

After Okamoto shared the video, hundreds of people swarmed the comments calling this lady out for being super rude and just outright a bad airport attendee. Dozens of people commented saying she's treating the airport like "her own living room."

Some users said they would have just "sat on her stuff."

Seeing as the woman not only took up seats laying down but also used other seats to put her belongings on, many said that was the final straw. Some commented on the TikTok video saying they would have "just sat right on her things" to prove a point.

However, some users said that we don't know the "whole story."

Some TikTok users suggested that the woman has been there for a long time and needs the rest if she's been stuck there for hours.

"I’ve had layovers of 5-6 hours in the middle of a trip that took days, and yeah after I’ve been awake for 36 hours I don’t care where I am, Ima[sic] sleep," said one TikTok user.

And, there were those that said the TikTok user was in the wrong for filming without consent.

While many TikTok and other social media users film and post things online, some TikTok users called Okamoto out saying that it was wrong to film someone without their consent. Others said she should have just dealt with it in person, rather than sharing it online.
