It's hard to believe it's been 45 years since Elvis left the building. Fans of the rock n' roll icon have always kept the Suspicious Minds singer close to their heart, but with the recent release of the Baz Luhrmann biopic Elvis, the rocker has gained a whole new generation of fans.

Now, on the 45th anniversary of Elvis' untimely death, we're taking a look back on the last memory he shared with his only child, daughter Lisa Marie Presley.

Lisa Marie Presley was born to parents Elvis Presley and Priscilla Beaulieu Presley on February 1st, 1968.

At the time of her father's death, the then 9-year-old Lisa Marie had grown comfortable with her parent's divorce and co-parenting strategies.

Lisa Marie spent plenty of time at her father's Memphis, Tennessee home, Graceland, and was there the night before he died.

As reported by Express UK, the king and his fiancée Ginger Alden played racketball with his cousin Billy Smith and his wife Jo in the early morning hours of August 16.

After that, Elvis took to the piano in the lower lounge area and sang Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain and Unchained Melody — the last two songs he'd ever sing.

Archivist Angie Marchese recounted what Elvis did after playing on the piano.

“He then left this building and went back up to the mansion, going through the Jungle Room door," she explained. "He met Lisa and said he was going upstairs to get some rest as Lisa was just starting her day. Unfortunately, it was that afternoon that Elvis passed away.”

In a previous interview, Lisa Marie explained that she was supposed to be sleeping that morning, but got a chance to give her father a goodnight kiss one last time.

I was supposed to be asleep, actually. He found me and [told me] ‘Go to bed.’ I said ‘Ok.’" Lisa Marie recalled.

"I think he kissed me again and then I ran off. He came in and kissed me good night after that. That was the last time I saw him alive."

The notorious night owl then went to bed with fiancée Ginger but woke up around lunchtime to go to the bathroom.

At around 1:30 PM on August 16, Ginger awoke to find the king of rock n' roll dead on the bathroom floor.
