Turning on the news at the moment can be a bit of a terrifying experience. As the seems to spiral into ever more worrying states of chaos, there can appear to be no good news around!

However, one Police department recently came to the rescue!

Earlier this week, one police department shared an unfeasibly heartwarming video.

Officers from the Houston Police Department were patrolling the parks to make sure that people were not using the parks while they are closed during the coronavirus pandemic.

However, despite the parks being closed, they found one family that needed a little bit of assistance.

A family of ducklings that had become separated from their mother.

A video was captured of Assistant Chief Larry J. Satterwhite helping the ducklings and uploaded to the Houston Police Department's Twitter page, writing, "While ensuring Memorial Park was secure, Asst. Chief @SatterwhiteLJ provided a police escort for these ducklings trying to find their mom."

The short video shows the ducklings following the officer down to the water's edge towards their mother.

In the background of the video, another officer can be heard speaking over a megaphone directing them towards the mother duck, saying, "alright pied piper, put them back in the water," as other voices express their amazement at the fact that the ducklings are following the officer so obediently.

The officers also used the video to remind the public to stay at home during this difficult time.

The video has since gone viral!

And, in fairness, why wouldn't it? The tweet has since received over a thousand likes and a plethora of responses, including the likes of:

"Keeping even the smallest protected- all creatures great and small".

"Too precious! Momma duck is nearby. Bless you officer!"

"People can be mean to each other but animals give us HOPE. Thank you."

Hopefully, the ducklings won't go wandering off again any time soon!
