Quotes For People Whose Resolutions Start And Stop On New Years

I'll be honest, I'm not sure I've ever kept a single New Year's resolution.

When I was a kid, my "resolutions" would usually be pretty small, like resolving not to start fights with my brother so often, or promising I'd at least try to make my bed every morning. But now that I'm adult, my list of "I should do that's" keeps getting longer and harder. Which would explain why I really can't keep any of them going past January 1.

If you're also the kind of person whose resolutions start and stop on New Year's Day, I think you're really going to enjoy these quotes.

They may seem small, but these are pretty huge asks.

How am I supposed to wear a different shirt when this one I've been wearing every single day since March has pretty much formed itself permanently to my body?

And only 11 hours of screen time? Are you insane? It's simply not possible.

Every year.

We always start with so much enthusiasm, don't we? Then 24 hours later we realize that perhaps we were a little too ambitious and suddenly our New Years resolutions turn into what we'll "definitely do" next year.

LOL. Yeah right.

My April 23rd resolutions pretty much go the same way, too.

Honestly, I've learned that it doesn't matter which point in the year I suddenly decide to try and better myself. I'll just fail anyway.

The only difference is whether I'm failing in winter, spring, summer, or fall. Or, you know, all four.

Can't wait!

As much as I hate New Year's, there is something to said about the promise and optimism of January 1st, when you feel like this year is going to be your year and you're absolutely certain there's nothing stopping you from achieving all your goals this time.

Of course, that only lasts for a day or so, but still. Quite magical, don't you think?
