Quotes For People Who Have Let Their Makeup Bag Collect Dust For A Year

I know I can't be the only one who has basically just stopped trying, right?

Thanks to this pandemic that's been going on for an entire year now, I've realized a few things. First, sweatpants are a girl's best friend. Second, your hair can go a long time without needing a good wash. And third, makeup becomes a lot less expensive when it stays right there in the bag, unused, for a whole year.

If any of this is sounding like your lockdown experience, I think you're really going to enjoy these quotes.

These will be my "going out" pants.

You need to have more than one pair of sweatpants. That's something that lockdown has taught me.

Don't just rely on that old faithful pair you keep pulling on every morning because one day you're going to spill spaghetti sauce on the leg and it's going to stain, and then you'll have to make a really hard decision about whether or not you feel confident enough to go to the liquor store not just in sweats, but in stained sweats.

Some day soon, we'll be together again.

Do you guys remember wearing dresses? Jeans? Blouses? Bras? Those were the days.

Now I'm just re-wearing the same outfit over and over again like I'm in my own personal version of that Groundhog Day movie. Except the days are somehow still passing by as normal — I'm the one who isn't changing.

Who are you trying to impress?

The other day I decided to be really wild and throw on a bit of concealer before a Zoom meeting and I genuinely felt like I was sitting there with a full face of makeup on.

It was and remains the most bizarre experience of my lockdown.

What a *star*.

Before we went into lockdown, I used to wear makeup every day. Of course, now that the only person who sees me is my boyfriend, I've ditched that altogether.

But on the rare occasion when I decide to get gussied up (meaning I put on mascara and hide the bags under my eyes), my boyfriend likes to tell me I look like an entirely different person.

And honestly, I feel like an entirely different person. A year without virtually any makeup will do that to you.
