One thing I've promised myself this year is to get into gardening. I'm already thinking of ways to get my garden up and running.
So I'm constantly looking for helpful gardening tips and hacks. I just stumbled upon one brilliant idea that I thought I should share with my fellow garden lovers. I wonder if any of you have heard of this neat trick?
So I'm trying to soak up all the knowledge about gardening that I can. I already found out how to make a raised garden, and I love the idea.
You can do so by painting rocks to look like strawberries. That way, birds will peck at them and not your tasty berries, ha, ha!
But now I found another brilliant idea to keep your plants safe. You should especially listen up if you have a deer or bunny problem in your yard.
As it turns out, people are putting bars of soap around their garden. OMG, what? Ha, ha, have you heard of this idea before? I have not.
It has to be Irish Spring. Why? It has to do with the scent. Irish Spring smells just like eucalyptus. Animals like deer and mice hate the smell of it.
And that's the whole idea. There are a few different ways you can tackle this. You can wrap a bar of Irish Spring in a stocking or mesh and hang it up in your garden.
However, when it comes to smaller critters like mice, there's another way. You can cut up some pieces of the soap bar and sprinkle them all around your garden.
I like that idea too. Either way, I think you get the point of it all, huh? It's all to deter animals and critters from hanging out in your garden eating your plants.
I say if the bar of soap won't harm the animals, I'm all for it. I definitely want to keep my precious veggies and fruits safe from critters munching on them.
